In an effort to better represent the County of Orange as OC Park's official Marine Safety Agency, U.S. Ocean Safety will now perform its services under the name of OC Lifeguards and OC Junior Guards. This change in name does not indicate any change in management, curriculum, or level of service. You can expect the same or better level of service and same familiar faces down on the beach. We are excited about our new name and logo and feel that this is a positive change for our program and agency as a whole.

OC Lifeguards has provided quality lifeguard service to the beaches of Orange County since 1990. From the beginning, OC Lifeguards has strived to educate the public and raise marine safety awareness both on and off the beach. OC Lifeguards has developed its public education program to include safety lectures at many of the local elementary, middle, and high schools. The presentations emphasize summer fun with safety in mind and introduce students to the various techniques and equipment used by lifeguards on the beach.

Our number one priority is the safety of the junior lifeguards. We strongly believe that with proper education and understanding of ocean hazards and conditions, most accidents at the beach can be prevented or avoided. Our goal is to create fun and exciting activities for the junior lifeguards to learn safety fundamentals that will help them safely explore their abilities and interests at the beach.

OC Junior Guard instructors share a common passion for the ocean and an active lifestyle. We feel it is important to convey this atmosphere to our junior lifeguards. Our instructor to student ratio is kept small so we can ensure the maximum amount of interaction between the instructors and students, and allow them to experience as much as possible in a productive and safe environment.
