Our junior lifeguards are constantly active on the beach. From the moment they arrive in the morning, until they are picked up in the afternoon, the junior guards have their hands and feet in the sand, and their eyes, ears, and noses on the water. It is incredible to observe the transformation that takes place in a OCJG during one three week session.

No matter what ocean background they may have coming into the program, each junior lifeguard seems to learn something new about his/herself. Whether it's a new passion for surfing, a desire to help people, or the discovery that they can swim a half mile in the ocean, each junior lifeguard comes away with a new respect for the ocean and a better understanding of their potential as a human being.
